About this project

While on a short citytrip to Copenhagen I decided to reach out to Mad & Kaffe to see if we could mean something for each other. I read about this café on various blogs and figured it’d be a blast to go by and take some photos. I got in touch with Benjamin, the owner, and we set up a shoot on my last day in this super fun city.

Mad & Kaffe is one of the best cafés in Copenhagen (it was actually ‘crowned’ best café in 2015 and 2016 and nominated for the best breakfast in 2017 and 2018). With 3 different locations you’re bound to find one during a trip to this hip and dynamic city. Special little dishes like grapefruit with sugar, beetroot hummus and chia puddings are to be found on their extensive breakfast menu. You get to pick up to 3, 5 or 7 different plates. These can go accompanied by any of their delicious homemade juices, lemonades or coffees – or all 3 of them, why not?!

I brought two friends along to be my models. We decided to get a table inside – it was gorgeous weather but the sunlight would cast way too much shadow in the pictures. We then picked about 11 different dishes from the menu, 3 juices and 3 coffees: one colorful spectacle! The results can be seen underneath. Working with Mad & Kaffe was great: easy-going staff and plenty of space to do my work.
